Tom, John Penrod has a nice *lighthouse locator* map, which shows all the lights in MI at a glance. He also has a series of good books about the lighthouses of each sections of MI, i.e. *A Travelers Guide to Western (Eastern, etc) Lighthouses* with directions to all of them. Also, just as an FYI, there are lighthouses you can stay at. I've stayed at three: Big Bay, Sand Hills, and Two Harbors- all on Lake Superior. I highly recommend the Sand Hills Lighthouse B&B!!! They are open year round, and prices are lower right now during the off season. Check it out at: http://www.sandhillslighthouseinn.com/index.shtml They serve a delicious breakfast, and in the evening they serve a great dessert (along with the lighthouse keeper entertaining the guests by playing the grand piano in the living room!) Your wife would really enjoy it!
