After a little more searching, I found that there is a place on Lake Superior called Big Knob Beach, with a campground *way off the beaten path*. Could a lighthouse have been on that location at one time? Maybe. Here is the link: http://hunts-upguide.com Click on campgrounds. Since it's near the village of Naubinway, maybe you could contact the historical society of Naubinway or St. Ignace. And if you hit a dead end, try a search of WI, MN, or Canada .... Lake Superior is so large, this lighthouse could have been anywhere.
