I have a large, Lens Lantern that was among a collection of fresnel lenses from Put-In-Bay Lighthouse, Marblehead Lighthouse and this was tagged Green Island. I was told that it was a temporary light used following a fire that destroyed the original lighthouse on New Years Eve in 1863. It is in original condition having only been in service a year until new lighthouse was built in 1864. The Lantern is complete with all inside parts and mounts that held it in place. It is 3' tall and quite heavy. Made of brass and copper. There is a large tank that runs around the top and is to be filled with oil.I would guess it would function with a little tightening of some fittings. I aquired this in 1964 when my family purchased the large mansion at Put-In-Bay with all the original furnishings.I have enjoyed it displayed in my home since but am now looking to downsize and would like to sell it.Does anyone have an idea of a fair value for such a piece? Pleas let me know. Dan 440-213-8348
