Boblo Island Light Once an important aid to navigation guiding ships off of Lake Erie and into the lower Detroit River, the brick tower stands today in ruins. The top of the structure including the lantern room was burned off by vandals in 1954. The light was designated a National Historic Site. Today the island and light are privately owned. |
