Shaganash Island Light
This light is actually
located on Island #10 which is west of Shaganash Island Located east
of Thunder Bay, the light marks the inside passage along the North Channel
of Lake Superior, between the mainland and Isle Royale.
Built in 1922, the wooden
tower is 24-feet tall and is an active Aid to Navigation. The present light
replaced the original 1910 light that was lost in a fire in 1921.
The light is solar powered
and was automated around 1954.
