Shaganash Island Light

This light is actually located on Island #10 which is west of Shaganash Island  Located east of Thunder Bay, the light marks the inside passage along the North Channel of Lake Superior, between the mainland and Isle Royale.

Built in 1922, the wooden tower is 24-feet tall and is an active Aid to Navigation. The present light replaced the original 1910 light that was lost in a fire in 1921.

The light is solar powered and was automated around 1954.
